S. Stephen Goodwin
Senior Partner
Stephen, a native of Union County, North Carolina, in his 15 years of practice has overseen and managed over One Billion Dollars in residential, commercial and industrial transactions, contract drafting, disputes & litigation. He has successfully litigated, negotiated or settled a full spectrum of matters in both state and federal court including, but not limited to, the defense and prosecution of construction related issues, representing the severely injured in medical negligence cases, personal injury & wrongful death cases, landlord tenant matters & more than 25 capital murder defenses. His career and his experiences with such a wide variety of trial and office related practices give Mr. Goodwin a depth of knowledge to handle the specific issues at hand plus the breadth of knowledge to approach any challenge from an “outside the box”, solution-oriented perspective. As the father of daughter Katherine and son, Jeb with his wife, Dr. Corinne Goodwin, Stephen enjoys activities with his children, a round of golf, and the challenge of competitive doubles in tennis.

Wesley S. Hinson
Managing Partner
Wes, a Union County, North Carolina native has developed a practice dedicated to the building community with a résumé that includes representation of two of the largest builder/developers in the United States. Mr. Hinson, uses a full complement of legal and negotiating skills, and a disarming personality to complete many complicated transactions and provide legal services to the great benefit of our clients. Wes and wife, Shannon, are the proud parents of a lovely daughter named Ava. Wes enjoys traveling, a good round of golf, and rock and roll band Widespread Panic.

Matthew B. Smith
Associate
Born and raised in Indian Trail, NC, Matthew attended Union County Public Schools. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Relations and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 1997.
Matthew attended Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University and received his Juris Doctor, in May 2002. He graduated Cum Laude. While in law school, he was a Staff Member and Articles Editor of the Campbell University Law Review.
Matthew is licensed to practice before all North Carolina Courts. He is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, North Carolina Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has held the offices of Secretary, Vice President, and President of the Union County Bar.
Matthew practices both civil and criminal litigation. His criminal practice is concentrated in all misdemeanors and felonies, license restoration, traffic and DWI law. His civil practice is concentrated in the areas of personal injury, collections, and construction law.
When he is not in the office, Matthew enjoys watching the Tar Heels and the Carolina Panthers. He enjoys playing golf and billiards.

Shelley K. Levine
Associate
Born in Ohio but raised in Wilson County, North Carolina, Shelley attended the University of North Carolina as a James M. Johnston Scholar and graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in May 2001. While an undergraduate, Shelley completed an internship in marketing communications with IBM in Research Triangle Park and served as an assistant editor at The Daily Tar Heel newspaper.
Shelley continued her education in Chapel Hill at the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she was a member of the Holderness Moot Court, vice-president of the Student Bar Association, and spent her summers as an intern in poverty law with Legal Aid of North Carolina. She earned her law degree in May 2004 and was named a member of The James E. and Carolyn B. Davis Society and The Order of the Barristers.
Shelley is admitted to appear before all North Carolina courts, and she is also licensed to practice law in South Carolina. She is a member of the Union County Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar, and the American Bar Association.
Shelley focuses her practice on transactional law, conducting hundreds of real estate closings each year, preparing documents for the development and financing of real property, and assisting clients with various business and corporate issues.
When she's not at the office, Shelley enjoys listening to music, reading and traveling.

Wesley F. Faulk
Associate
Born and raised in Union County, Wes attended Union County Public Schools before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina in May 2001. While at Wingate, Wes served as a Presidential Ambassador, interned with The Washington Center, and served as an Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms in the North Carolina Senate each summer. Wes is a member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.
Wes earned his law degree from Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi in May 2007. While in law school, Wes was a member of the Environmental Law Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association. During his third year of law school, Wes completed an externship with the Mississippi Youth Justice Project, a non-profit organization affiliated with the Southern Poverty Law Center. In addition, Wes completed an internship with the City Attorney’s Office in Monroe, North Carolina during the summer of 2006.
Wes is licensed to practice before all North Carolina Courts. He is a member of the Union County Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
Wes practices in the areas of business law, residential and commercial real estate, and general civil litigation, with an emphasis on family law, personal injury, collections, and construction law.
When he is not at the office, Wes enjoys watching the Carolina Panthers and the Alabama Crimson Tide play football, he plays racquetball and pick-up basketball, and enjoys watching live music.
